Erynne Hill, MS, ATC, HHP
Director of Rehab United Massage & Wellness
Locations: RU - Carmel Valley, RU - Grossmont

"Erynne is a Nationally Certified Athletic Trainer and Massage Therapist and has been a part of the healthcare field since 2002. She studied Athletic Training and Sports Medicine at Middle Tennessee State University and graduated with honors in 2002. Her degree program focus was the prevention, evaluation and rehabilitation of athletic injuries, which only directed her further toward injury remediation during her massage education. She began massage school at the Holistic Institute for Health while concurrently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree to explore the complimentary value of massage and body work. Erynne completed the massage therapy program also in 2002.

After completing her formal schooling, Erynne worked for two years as a Physical Therapy Aide and was able to reinforce her understanding of the body’s natural healing process and how best to facilitate that through massage and other modalities. She became proficient in exercise prescription, stretching mechanics, and ergonomic evaluation. Chronic and overuse injuries, brought on by sport or other daily use, became the primary target of the style of massage she developed.

A San Diego resident since 2003, Erynne has developed a strong client base of individuals seeking out quality deep tissue and sports massage. Erynne has since developed special training in Lymphatic Drainage Massage (also excellent for post-operative swelling control) and Prenatal Massage to broaden her spectrum. She continues to teach classes in Sport Massage, Anatomy, and Physiology at massage schools through out San Diego and has been voted Competitor Magazine "Best Of” in the Sport Massage Category every year since 2006. To top things off, Erynne received her Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology from San Diego State University in 2008 with goals to help expand our Wellness programs with our Nutrition Director and Co-SPC Director, Justin Robinson. When not working or teaching, Erynne enjoys training for triathlons, snowboarding, and spending time with her husband and other friends and family.

Kristen Knightly, DPT
Soft Tissue Specialist

Kristen grew up in Windsor, Massachusetts actively involved in figure skating, soccer, ice hockey, softball and lacrosse prior to three knee surgeries. Looking back now, Kristen looks at her injuries as a blessing in disguise having inspired her passion for physical therapy. Having gone through nearly 5 years of on and off rehab, she formed an impeccable bond with her hometown PTs. It seemed only natural to pursue PT further at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. It is here that she earned her Bachelors of Science in Rehabilitation and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Having been introduced to Applied Functional Science at a young age through her mentor and friend, Dave Armet, Kristen was inspired by the Gary Gray and Dave Tiberio community. As graduation from PT school approached, Kristen attended her third Chain Reaction Transformation seminar. It was here that she spoke with members of the AFS community about employment opportunities across the country. Within a week, she further researched Rehab United, booked a flight, and scheduled an interview. She immediately fell in love with Rehab United's philosophy on treating both the physical and behavioral sciences of their patients, clients and community. Within months, she moved her life 3000 miles with her friend and colleague, Ashleigh Bordwell, and now finds herself at home within the Rehab United family. Here, she hopes to facilitate her patients and clients in their healing and in reaching their highest functional level. She has attended Brian Grasso's Youth International Conditioning Association seminar and recently went to her fourth Chain Reaction Series. She hopes to go through the GIFT fellowship in the near future to further expand on a professional and personal level.

Kristen's appreciation for the body and mind connection has inspired her to further develop herself as a bodywork specialist. She has completed various classes and workshops through IPSB (International Professional School of Bodywork). She has enjoyed the complimentary relationship of massage and physical therapy. Her strong rehabilitation and medical background makes her a unique addition to our massage and wellness services. Kristen specializes in FMR (functional manual reaction) to reinforce proper body mechanics, Swedish massage, deep tissue, circulatory, injury and sports massage modalities. She has been an integral part of the KOZ Race series post-race massage. Kristen truly loves where her career has taken her and is excited to continue to expand her knowledge base.

Kristen loves the community aspect of Rehab United as well, often found volunteering her time at race expos and the San Diego Surf Cup soccer tournament and participating in many local races. She enjoys running, cycling, swimming, rollerblading, hiking, skating and taking in the beautiful San Diego setting. She has taught Learn-to-Skate programs since she was 15, coached youth soccer and was a F.A.S.T. (Fitness And Sports Training) counselor, a camp dedicated to teaching skills required in a variety of sports while promoting a sense of team and self-esteem among young girls to help reach their full potential both on and off the field. If you see Kristen at any events please come introduce yourself and help build her West Coast family!!!
