About The Event

What is all the buzz about Blood Flow Restriction? Have you heard about it? There are over 1000 studies and over 250 Peer-Review Articles in Scientific Literature on the efficacy of BFR use for injury/post-surgical recovery and performance training.

What is it?

BFR is the use of a Blood Pressure Cuff/Tourniquet to safely restrict venous and arterial blood flow from the working muscles at rest or during activity. This is done (accomplished) primarily with low-intensity, low-load resistance training, causing metabolic stress and cellular swelling that replicate the response during high intensity and high work-load HIIT or other exercise.

If you are one of the following, this FORUM is for you:

  • Considering surgery (total joint replacement, ACL, achilles, etc)
  • Recovering from surgery and want to heal faster
  • Busy individual wanting better results from your workouts, but with less time spent at the gym
  • Athlete wanting to improve performance or recovering from a sports injury and wanting to get back to your sport sooner
  • Physician, coach, personal trainer, or other health professional looking for the best health/fitness options for your patients/clients
  • Student in the health / fitness field wanting to gain as much knowledge about today's most innovative approaches to patient care

Clients / Patients

  • Increase Strength (Get Stronger)
  • Increase Hypertrophy (Build Muscle)
  • Increase VO2 MAX (Increase Fitness)
  • Improve Bone Density (Stronger Bones)
  • Tissue Healing (Get Better Faster)

  • Drastically improve your patient’s post-surgical recovery time
  • Treat muscle atrophy or loss in both acute and chronic injuries/patients
  • Use as accessory work to decrease joint and tendon stress
  • Improve scar healing
  • Increase bone healing time
  • Improve VO2 Max or increase cardiovascular efficiencies

What We Will Cover in this Session

  • The wide range of benefits and those who will benefit from BFR
  • How we use BFR for injury/post-surgical vs. performance training and improvement
  • How to determine if BFR will help you or someone you know
  • Importance of Protein Synthesis within the injured, post-surgical, elderly, and      neurological populations
  • How we use BFR to aid in tissue healing and return to activity
  • How our innovative and individualized programming and safe application drives optimal outcomes
  • Why BFR + Applied Functional Science = Best Results
  • Demonstration of Blood Flow Restriction

Presenter for this FORUM: Bryan Hill,  PT, FAFS, CF-L1, BFR-1
