Biography: My name is Jennifer Blankenship but most people call me Jen. I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada, and knew early on that I did not want to stay in Vegas once I grew up. My first step out of that environment was when I left home to attend Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. I switched my degree program a few times between Pre-Med and Nursing. As soon as the nursing school clinicals started, I quickly realized my love of healthcare could not flourish in such a hands-on position. This led me to obtain my Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration.

While obtaining this degree, my then-boyfriend and now-husband joined the Navy. We married within a year of him joining the military and I have followed and supported him throughout various moves and deployments. He encouraged me to take advantage of a scholarship opportunity I was offered to pursue my Master’s Degree in Business Administration which I recently obtained.

We were fortunate enough to live in San Diego for close to three years where I worked in childcare and as a youth soccer coach and program coordinator. After that, we moved to Bremerton, Washington for a year and a half where I worked as a health information management specialist in a hospital. Living in Washington allowed me to experience four seasons for the first time and also reaffirmed that I wanted to be back in San Diego. Thankfully, my husband was able to get orders back to San Diego where he will be finishing out his contract with the military.

We both love animals and have had to stop volunteering at the Humane Society because we kept bringing home animals with sad stories. We have one dog and four cats that we love like children. Our dog loves going kayaking or to the beach with us so we bring him along whenever we can! I am so excited to be living in my favorite city again and taking advantage of all that San Diego has to offer.

I was referred to Rehab United by my cousin who works here and has only had good things to say about the company. The culture within the organization is what I am most looking forward to being a part of! I am motivated and excited to learn as much as possible in order to begin what I hope to be a long-time career.
