Biography: Koree was born and raised in Oceanside, San Diego. Koree has been a physical therapist since 2018. She received her Bachelors of Science in Applied Health from Azusa Pacific University and graduated with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Western University of Health Sciences.
Something that sets her aside from the “typical Physical Therapist” is that she has a lot of personal experience as an “actual patient” in both the Ortho and Neuro settings, which she feels gives her a deeper connection and understanding to and of her patients. She has had 14 surgeries including 3 knee surgeries and 8 brain surgeries, which allow patients to open up about deeper emotions and feelings that they might be dealing with. Koree was able to learn and grow through these experiences and came to believe in a treatment style that focuses on treating the whole individual. She believes that in order for a patient to heal, Koree must treat the physical, mental and emotional sides as well. Koree was able to take lessons she was taught by her physical therapists and incorporate them into her own treatment style.
For the past 3 years, Koree has been working in Modesto, California, as a Senior Physical Therapist at a clinic that specializes in Neuro, Outpatient Ortho, Lymphedema, and Pediatrics. She has worked with a wide spectrum of patients including but not limited to Parkinson’s Disease, Stroke, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Huntington’s Disease, Brachial Plexus injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and Alzheimer’s Disease patients. This clinic also specialized in Lymphedema and the treatment of Primary and Secondary Lymphedema, where she got to side by side with lymphedema specialists to acquire vasopnuematic pumps and compression garments for patients who have had damage to their lymphatic system brought on by chronic venous insufficiency, cancer treatments, obesity, trauma, surgery, or infection. She has been able to work with all age groups and has enjoyed the diversity of care that she was able to provide in that setting.
Koree recently made the move back down to San Diego to be closer to family; she chose to join Rehab United’s team due to the positive lasting impressions they made while she was a patient recovering from multiple knee surgeries.
