Massage Therapy

Why Choose Us?

Rehab United Massage & Wellness is different from other massage therapy wellness centers because we work in conjunction with our physical therapy and sports performance staff here in our clinics to offer the most comprehensive approach to wellness in San Diego.

Self-Care Has Never Been More Important

Our Focus

Our team has the education and the on-site resources to help guide you through your healing process. Whether it’s an acute injury that has you temporarily sidelined, chronic pain that requires ongoing care, or tension that takes up residence in your body as a result of the mental and physical stresses of life, we are here to help you restore your body to optimal wellness through therapeutic touch.

The same principles of Applied Functional Science® that differentiate our physical therapists from a “traditional” approach are used in guiding our massage therapists in creating and individualized massage session that addresses your body’s needs. Whether you are seeking treatment to alleviate chronic low back pain, recover from a recent race, or manage stress and fatigue, our practitioners have a breadth of knowledge in body mechanics, functional kinesiology, and tissue healing to help get your body feeling its best.

Our massage therapists are in constant communication with your physical therapist or fitness coach to ensure you are always receiving the best possible treatment.

Common Types of Massages That We Offer:

Sports Massage

Prior to competition, sports massage helps prepare the body for activity and complements an athlete’s regular warm-up. After competition, sports massage aids recovery by restoring the body to steady state. The major muscle groups used in the sport are the primary focus of the massage. Techniques are chosen to warm and ready the muscles, such as friction and kneading, or to calm the muscles in post-event settings, such as compression and slow rocking. Passive and active stretches are commonly used in sports massage, both pre- and post-event, to ease muscle tension while facilitating full range of motion. Sports massage is usually scheduled 1-2 days before or after the target event and because these techniques are non-invasive, sports massage is commonly done the day of competition. Rehab United Massage & Wellness provides the post-race massage for the San Diego Triathlon Series.
