Biography: Steve was born and raised in Los Angeles. His mother is from San Diego and came frequently to visit family since he was a baby, so San Diego was always his home away from home. He graduated from Cal State Northridge in ‘13 where he earned his BS in Exercise Science. Afterward, he earned his PTA credential at Cerritos College in 2015 where he was valedictorian.

Since graduating, Steve has worked in different settings besides orthopedics, including neuro, aquatic, and pediatrics. However, as his career progressed, he began to continue his education and specializations as a neuromuscular orthopedic therapist. In 2018, he earned his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCS) credential and in 2019 earned his Certified Applied Functional Science (CAFS) from the renowned Gray Institute. Steve was also fortunate enough to work for several surgical physician groups in San Diego prior to RU, where he garnered valuable experience in post-operative rehabilitation. Currently, Steve is taking classes at Mesa College in order to apply to a doctorate of physical therapy program in the near future.

As a Southern Californian, Steve enjoys the geography and climate. In the warmer months, he enjoys surfing and volleyball. In the “winter,” he loves to snowboard and play basketball with friends. In between, you can find him hiking and camping. His hobbies include reading, camping, off-roading, and water sports. He enjoys being outdoors the most but does consider himself a movie snob. He has many favorite foods but is constantly on the search for the best burritos from here to Mexico.

If Steve could have one superpower, he would want to have a genius-level IQ because being able to create and build whatever he wished, like Tony Stark, sounds fun.
