New Updates and Resources

Updated: Jul 28, 2023

Hello RU Family,

First and foremost, we hope that you and your family continue to be safe and healthy in the comfort of your home as we continue to navigate our way through these ever-changing times. A lot of things have taken place over the past couple of weeks, and we'd like to provide you with an update on what we're doing along with a few resources that we hope will provide you value and comfort.

In their most recent measures to progress the fight against COVID-19, San Diego Public Health Officials have required those who are working in essential businesses such as ours to wear facial coverings that cover their nose and mouth while at work, effective yesterday, Saturday, April 4th. Accordingly, we have asked our team members to adhere to this new measure to ensure their safety and the safety of all essential patients who continue to need in-person care. Although we ordered masks weeks ago in preparation for this particular scenario, widespread scarcity has resulted in a delay in our supplies. Nevertheless, our team will rise to the occasion as we always do and come up with a solution RU Style, which we hope may even bring much-needed joy to your day.

As this new measure also encourages all San Diegans to wear facial coverings anytime they leave their home, we also ask and encourage all patients who come into our clinics for essential care to wear facial coverings while in our facility. With your help, we can ensure that this new precaution is as effective as possible and that we, as a community, continue to do our part to flatten the curve.

Empowering & Protecting Your Family

In a recent interview, Dr. David Price, a pulmonary doctor who has been working at the front lines of the fight against COVID-19 in New York, shared information with family and friends to help empower and protect themselves during this pandemic. He discusses the uniqueness of working the front lines in NYC with this novel disease, how much they have learned, how to avoid contracting it, and more. He gives clear and manageable rules and how to apply them. Our team has found comfort in this information, and hope that you, too, will find comfort in this knowledge.

Help Us Support Our Healthcare System

As we have shared over the past two weeks, physical therapy has an essential role in the fight against COVID-19, and we are committed to making sure that we do our part not only in providing necessary care to patients who need it but in providing crucial support for our overburdened healthcare delivery system.

The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) has provided valuable insight into the integral role of our profession in flattening the curve. We invite you to learn more information from their website!
